Here is one account of the holiday from Head boy, James Kimber.
"In February half term year 11 went on the Grey Court ski trip in La Masella, Spain. After a long coach ride from Barcelona airport we finally arrived at our hotel, just around the corner from the slopes. The next day, we hit the slopes, and there was a lot of falling over from people who had never been before, and the rest of who were a bit rusty!
We were split up into 3 groups for skiing, and 3 for the snowboarders, according to ability. The weather was brilliant, having perfect sunshine all week, and the snow was perfect. The highest peak on the resort was 2500m (where it was a bit cold!) and there were a few black runs which most groups had a go on. We managed to get some injuries whilst on the trip, some more serious than others. Arun managed to break his thumb whilst skiing, and there were a lot of bruises and blisters!
The activities after our skiing were great fun with a quiz night, disco - where some 'interesting' dance moves were shown off, karaoke - which Grey Court managed to dominate and kill most of the songs, ice skating, pizza night, and on the last night a talent show where there was mass improvisation by many of the groups who were too lazy to think of an act!
All in all it was a great holiday; jam packed with activities, with lots of long lasting memories, where everyone had fun!"
A huge thank you needs to go to all the students who came on the trip with us. It was such a fantastic holiday and that was largely due to the excellent behaviour and positive attitude displayed by each and every child. It was a real pleasure to spend the week away with them.
Huge thanks must also go to Ms Smith, Mr Rhodes, Mr Caraher and Mr Pillay for all their help and support in the planning of the trip and their support once in resort.
