World Book Day 2016

This is the 19th year there’s been a World Book Day, and on 3rd March 2016 the students of Grey Court came together for their appreciation of reading. We celebrated the authors of our favourite books, characters of these books and most importantly share our love of reading. The main aim of World Book Day is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books. GC ran a few competitions, a Book Swap, Dress up as Character, Post-a-Book Wall and a competition involving faculties to dress up as characters from certain books called; Guess the Book, Guess the Faculty.

World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
