Trips- Residential and Abroad

Grey Court School is proud of its tradition of offering students a full programme of visits and trips.

Every year, year 9 and 10 students are invited to take part in the Spanish Exchange to Barcelona. Ski trips are organised once every two years- the next ski trip is taking place in February 2016. In Years 9 and 10, students have an opportunity to go on school exchanges to France and Spain.  For students studying  French , there is the annual visit to our partner school in Lille and the Lille Xmas market.
This year, we are very excited to have introduced a Year 11 trip to Berlin, during which students will explore the History of  the Cold War. As part of the Year 7 Summer activity week, year 7 students spend  a day in  Boulogne, France, whilst year 8 and 9 students have the chance to go on a residential activity  based trip.
In addition all students during their time at Grey Court will take part in a number of field trips and museum visits which help to further enhance the school curriculum.

You can make the payments online, using the online payment system by clicking here, or via the Finance Office.

Year 7  July trip to Boulogne-Sur-Mer-

In July, as part of the Summer Activities week, Year 7 students have the opportunity to practise their French in the historic town of Boulogne-Sur-Mer. The day starts early with a coach ride from Grey Court to Folkestone. Students then travel by the Shuttle to Calais and afterwards move on to Boulogne. They visit a local sweet factory, where they are given demonstrations and can learn how to make sweets. In addition, they have to complete a range of language based activities in the centre of the Old Town.   "I really enjoyed the trip to France and the chance to practise my French.   It was a really long day, but I had fun with my friends. My favourite bit was in the sweet factory because we got to try the sweets at the end." ( a year 7 )

Lille Xmas Market

The Lille Christmas Market trip runs from Thursday 5th to Friday 6th December and is open to year 9 and 10 students although it is fully booked for this year.  Highlights include a visit to a lycee (6th form college), shopping at the market, a spin on the big wheel, the best hot chocolate EVER, dinner out, ten pin bowling, a visit to the Modern Art Museum and of course, the obligatory hypermarket shop for those last minute Christmas gifts!
