Dear Grey Court Community
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, students, and parents for their understanding and support over the last few weeks. What is clearly a critical situation for the nation is being felt acutely by all schools, including ours and the whole Grey Court Community. At the time of writing, we have received over 30 negative test results from students who have been tested for COVID-19. We do not have a positive case but are closely monitoring the situation. The advice from Public Health England (PHE) continues to support keeping all schools open.
The constant hypothesising by some over potential school closures has clearly created an atmosphere of uncertainty. It is our duty to prepare for all eventualities. The staff have been ensuring that resources will be readily accessible and that all remote learning platforms (principally Google Classroom) are also ready. We have a database of students without the requisite devices and/or internet access and I will be writing to these families personally. Any parent who is worried about the impact of not accessing free school meals should contact me directly either by phone or email.
The planned international trips and the numerous events that are scheduled for the summer term will be discussed regularly and, as ever, we will follow governmental and health body advice.
