Overview

Art and Design at Grey Court encourages students to express themselves in a variety of media. We draw on the rich heritage of students’ own experiences to help them discover their artistic voice. Our young artists are invited to experiment and explore the world around them to understand and create art that is meaningful to them and their lives.

Facilities

Our purpose built art block has three fully equipped art studios, one of which is a specialist GCSE working space. Facilities include a kiln, darkroom, plaster room and art gallery. We also have extensive multimedia resources.

Key Stage 3

Students are introduced to the formal elements of art and are then guided towards sampling each of the major art forms of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and photography.

Key Stage 4

At GCSE level students move from following a teacher led curriculum to more creative and self expressive art. They produce a coursework portfolio and a final project to be assessed for their GCSE exam.
