Overview

Health and Social Care is the study of the care systems that are so important to us as a society. Students develop the skills needed to work in the social care sector, using role play as one of the methods of learning.

Facilities

Students are primarily taught in the modern sixth form block with specialist resources and displays to draw on.

Key Stage 4

Health and social care is taught as an optional subject at Key Stage 4. It leads to a BTEC level 2 qualification. Students focus on the human lifespan, exploring changes in the body over time. They also investigate the impact of significant life changes and gain an understanding of differing health care systems and barriers to access.
