Overview

Media is becoming increasingly important in modern life. This course examines the role of mass media in society and helps students develop skills of analysis and interpretation. Alongside this they also develop practical skills in media use and production.

Facilities

Media is taught within our modern arts block where students have access to Adobe Premiere Pro, industry standard editing software, and recording equipment such as DSLR cameras.

Key Stage 4

Media is offered as an optional subject at Key Stage 4 and leads to a BTEC qualification. Students gain a working knowledge of media production, including planning a product and pitching a concept. There is ample opportunity to discuss the role of multi media in our lives, including social media, film, advertising, print and television and radio.
