Grey Court scores record-breaking GCSE results with 46% of all grades 9-7

This follows last week’s record-breaking A level success.

Grey Court scored a record breaking set of GCSEs, to complement last week’s record-breaking A-level scores.

  • A staggering 46% of all grades were awarded at 9-7

  • 76% of students attaining grades 5 and above in English and mathematics 

  • 91% attaining a grade 4 and above in these subjects  

  • A quarter of all GCSE grades awarded were 8-9.

  • A phenomenal 61 students received 7 grades 7s or higher.

Once again bucking the national trend, Grey Court produced results that were higher on every measure than the teacher assessed grades (TAGs) of 2021.

An ecstatic headteacher, Chris Rhodes said, “On the back of our A-level success, I simply couldn’t be more proud of our students. These outstanding GCSE results are testament to ambitious and resilient students, supportive and caring parents, and an extremely talented and dedicated body of staff.  Everybody involved should feel justified and proud of this truly inclusive comprehensive school: these results are truly remarkable!”

A few notable mentions go to Zoe Avramovic, who received nine 9s, one 8 and two 7s, a phenomenal achievement across the board. Zoe has also been an active Diversity Representative this year. Ximena Harrington To also achieved nine 9s, and two 8s, another impressive performance. Other mentions go to Flora Wilson, Jessica Blaze, Katie Holroyd, Ruzgar Atik, Archie Smith and Gabriel Halls, all of whom achieved several grade 9s. 

These results follow last week’s record-breaking A level results, with 50% of all grades awarded at A*- A and 81% A*- B.
