Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including maths and English.

Overview

This highly practical course equips students with the knowledge and skills to set up, market and run their own business or social enterprise. It has been developed in partnership with the National Enterprise Academy (NEA), in consultation with entrepreneurs and business people. Close contact with experienced professionals ensures that students receive real-life, practical experience.

Facilities

Enterprise and entrepreneurship is taught in the purpose-built sixth form centre.

Growth

Students hone skills in business planning, personal and business financial management and developing a marketing campaign. 

Enrichment

As well as interacting with entrepreneurs and business people, students take part in the nationally recognised young enterprise programme, and are taken on trips to the Branding Museum, Google HQ and to marketing agencies.

Careers

By the end of this BTEC students will have the knowledge, skills and practical experience to run their own business and pitch for employment. They will also be able to explore careers in areas such as business administration, marketing, accounting, sales and enterprise.
