Allotment

Our community allotment provides a wonderful opportunity for students to grow and harvest fresh fruit and vegetables. The allotment provides the ideal venue to aid wellbeing and for our students to grow in independence. It also strengthens their social and communication skills.

Through a process of active learning outside the classroom, students undertake a range of activities including potting, thinning and planting, and managing pests and disease using organic methods.

Grey Court community allotment is managed by Ham United Group, with community volunteers working on the allotment on Saturday mornings. Students from Grey Court and Strathmore schools then work there during their lunchtimes.
