Food and Nutrition is an inspiring, challenging and practical subject. Students learn about the concepts of healthy eating and nutrition and about working safely and hygienically. They learn and apply technical skills to create a range of foods.
We have a newly refurbished kitchen, which is a dynamic and vibrant learning environment. With an array of specialist equipment available, students have the opportunity to hone their practical skills in the kitchen to produce many different dishes.
Key Stage 4
Students can choose to specialise and take a GCSE in Food Preparation and Nutrition, which is a combination of theory and practical application. They build on technical skills gained during Key Stage 3 to produce technically challenging dishes, and increase their awareness of sustainability, food science and food choice.
