Library

Our school library is a hub of learning and activity. It provides a space for students to work, read and spend time with their peers before, during and after school. Our staff are committed to enabling students to develop a genuine love of reading and research.

A love of reading

The accelerated reader programme is based in the library. This is a reading programme designed specifically for students in years 7 and 8. Small group support encourages reading skills and our library is well stocked with books for students of all abilities and interests.

Students are encouraged to use the library before, during and after school to complete homework and after-school homework clubs are run throughout the week.

Stretching horizons

Our library hosts a number of events throughout the year. These range from involvement in the borough-wide Cover Story Competition, Book Week and World Book Day, to our most recent endeavour: our National Literacy Trust Book Bench.

To keep up to date with all issues library related, follow @GreyCourtLib on Twitter and be sure to check the Book Stag weekly.
